Yes. Let the sentiment and nostalgia flood over you as you remember two of your favorite childhood companions. Now that you have all the warm fuzzies, you can forget that because we are not talking about THAT Bert and Ernie (well, not exactly).
Bert and Ernie and what my wife Meg affectionately call the Norwex Polish Cloth (Bert) and the Norwex Enviro Cloth (Ernie). She used those fun monikers to help you folks (myself included) remember how and what to use each cloth for.
Ernie is a free-spirited, happy-go-lucky, do anything guy. You Enviro Cloth is your can-clean-anything cloth. On the other hand, Bert is your uptight, orderly, everything needs to be perfect guy. His Norwex counterpart - the Polish Cloth - is your streak-free shine cloth.
To demonstrate how Bert and Ernie are different but work together, Meg will often do the "Butter on the Window" demo, which many of you have seen. If you haven't gotten a chance to see it you can watch it on YouTube.
I have seen the demo so many times I could probably demo Bert and Ernie. To be honest though, I never used the polish cloth. Until one weekend I decided to clean out my car. This is a serious undertaking. We have four kids and after a while the floor of the van looks like the ground of a petting zoo. I never even worry about the possibility getting stranded because I know that we could easily survive for weeks with the food dropped on the floor and crammed into the seats (you get the picture).
I digress, after cleaning up the giant mess that was our van I start to clean the inside of the van windows. These are covered with gooey fingerprints and stickers pasted from the last few months of doctors appointments. I never thought I'd be angry at Paw Patrol, but it takes forever to get those darn stickers off! Finally I wipe down the windows first with the wet Enviro Cloth (Ernie) and for the very first time, I grabbed Burt (the Polish Cloth) and wiped the windows down again. I stood there dumbfounded. The windows were streak-free and shiny (wait. where have I heard that before?)
I immediately call Meg and excitedly tell her about how amazing the Polish Cloth (Bert) is! She listens patiently before finally saying in a fantastic deadpan "seriously? I've been selling this stuff for 3 years. How is this the first time you've ever used the Polish Cloth!?"
Moral of the story: Don't be like me, get acquainted with both Bert and Ernie.
